Donald Flaynick, Jr.
Mr. Flaynik is an attorney that has significant experience in real estate and commercial matters. His experience includes thirty-two years as a real estate broker and twelve years as a partner, with significant experience in industrial, commercial, and residential real estate transactions. Flaynik’s legal expertise includes patents, as he is a patent attorney and has prosecuted a myriad of electrical and mechanical engineering patent applications to issuance, and is the co-inventor of U.S. Patent Nos. 5,898,560, 6,736,868 and 8,111,497. Mr. Flaynik has developed an expertise in domestic trademark prosecution matters, and extensive experience in litigation matters. Before practicing law, Mr. Flaynik worked in industry from 1974 to 1987, as a Senior Instrument and Electrical Engineer for Amoco Chemical Corp. (“Amoco”) and Mobil Oil Corporation (“Mobil”). During Mr. Flaynik’s employment at Amoco and Mobil, he was responsible for installing new instrument and electrical-mechanical systems that controlled and operated chemical and oil refining processes. He also was responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing instrument and electrical-mechanical systems for controlling and operating chemical and oil refining processes. Further, Mr. Flaynik was involved with maintaining and expanding the electrical power distribution systems for both Amoco and Mobil. Mr. Flaynik received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1974, and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1979. Mr. Flaynik was an Illinois licensed Professional Engineer from 1980 to 1996. He has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, and Illinois state courts.
